Not a good look. You failed again. And didn’t you promise the vaccine would be available by election time? Or was that just another one of your many lies.
President Trump’s is reportedly angry with the US vaccine approval agency after the United Kingdom became the first country to approve a coronavirus vaccine.
Trump has repeatedly expressed his frustration with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) over what he perceives to be a delay to its vaccine approval process.
Publications including CNN reported that “agitation” among White House officials increased when the UK on Wednesday approved the Pfizer vaccine, becoming the first country in the world to do so.
But we all know it’s your administration’s incompetence, if not indifference, that is the problem. No one else is to blame:
Federal officials have slashed the amount of coronavirus vaccine they plan to ship to states in December because of constraints on supply, sending local officials into a scramble to adjust vaccination plans and highlighting how early promises of a vast stockpile before the end of 2020 have fallen short.
Instead of the delivery of 300 million or so doses of vaccine immediately after emergency-use approval and before the end of 2020 as the Trump administration had originally promised, current plans call for availability of around a tenth of that, or 35 to 40 million doses.
Trump has accomplished one thing. He has presided of the greatest number of Covid deaths of any country in the World. That is his legacy.
