An MTA board member appointed by Gov. Cuomo said Thursday it’s time to consider raising taxes to modernize the region’s antiquated transit system.
“There’s nothing the mayor can do and there’s nothing the governor can do unless we raise tens of billions of dollars in the long run to fix this system,” said Peter Ward, who is president of the Hotel Trades Council.
