It could be the makings of yet another Clinton-involved scandal: Virginia Democrat Gov. Terry McAuliffe – a board member of the Clinton Global Initiative – is under investigation by the FBI and the Justice Department’s public integrity unit concerning possibly illegal campaign donations.
Speaking Tuesday after a public event in Virginia, McAuliffe said, “There is no wrongdoing. They had some questions about a donor. My legal team fully vetted this individual. He’s been a green card holder since 2007, so we’re very confident.”
The probe focuses in part on whether McAuliffe accepted unlawful donations to his gubernatorial campaign, including $120,000 from Chinese businessman Wang Wenliang, a previous delegate to China’s National People’s Congress, the nation’s ceremonial legislature.
Wang has also donated $2 million to the Clinton foundation, according to CNN.
Robby Mook, the manager for Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign, urged staff to attack National Nurses United (NNU) as “fringe” and suggested they were “not a ‘real’ union,” according to emails published by WikiLeaks.
...RoseAnn DeMoro, executive director of NNU, responded, “The Clinton team’s attack on nurses as ‘fringe’ and not a ‘real union’ is deplorable, but hardly a shock. It’s a window in how they seek to vilify any critics, as evidenced in other emails showing Clinton’s mocking disdain for environmental activists.”
DeMoro continued, “Apparently, a ‘real union’ is only one that falls lock step within the Democratic Party establishment and ‘fringe’ when it fails to embrace partnerships with Wall Street and other corporate interests.”
Jake Tapper today said Hillary Clinton has not done a "whole lot of introspection." Why Hillary lost the election: "Putin didn't tell you" not to campaign in Wisconsin; "James Comey didn't tell you to call 1/4 of the country 'deplorable.'"
